At MIT, the "primarily african-american dormitory" is officially called "Chocolate City"

I embarassed myself at the info session by failing to stop cracking up at that. Nobody else seemed to find it funny.

clearly, that is absolutely hilarious. everyone else was a stiff who was either ignorant or too constrained by perceived racial tensions. yay inappropriate laughing!

That was only funny because of the context of what you said, and I quote:

Info-session guy: MIT students can choose to live in any one of 11 dorms, each one suited to different tastes.
Mike(whispering): AKA let's put all the black people in one building.
Me(whispering): exactly
Info-session guy: In fact we have one house known as chocolate city, which is occupied by african american students.
